Guga S’Thebe Arts and Cultural Centre

Speaking about wonders, have you heard about the Guga S’Thebe Arts and Cultural Centre? This is one of Cape Town’s unique cultural centres along with the Lookout Hill Tourism Centre in Khayelitsha, located on the Cape Flats.
The Guga S’Thebe Arts and Cultural Centre is located in the heart of Cape Town’s oldest and liveliest township, Langa – A township filled with many restaurants, parties, ethnic accommodation, shops and of course the fun social natives. Thus, it’s no surprise that the Guga S’Thebe centre is located there. The multi-coloured ceramic mural decorated building symbolises hope, empowerment and freedom which you can feel when entering through its doors. This community based public centre offers art, design, performances and so much more.
At the entrance visitors are entertained by singing and dancing, and even gumboot dancing, by a group of young youth. How’s that for getting into the Cape Town vibe? Feel free to join in on the fun, as they would only be delighted to have you performing with them! The centre consists of studio areas, a space for social gathering, an amphitheatre with performances by local groups, a multipurpose auditorium and an arts and crafts shop for visitors to collect handmade locally crafted products such as pottery items, beading collections, and beautiful sewn products to name a few.
